Q&A

Do you have any questions? We are here to answer you

Do I need previous experience with meditation?

Not at all. Whether you are completely new to meditation or have been practising for years, Banyan offers a welcoming space to explore stillness, awareness, and inner peace at your own pace.

What can I expect from a meditation session?

Each session offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and experience the present moment. Practices will include guided meditation, conscious breathing, relaxation, and moments of quiet reflection.

What are the benefits of meditation?

Regular meditation may help reduce stress, improve focus, encourage emotional balance, and cultivate a greater sense of inner calm. Above all, it offers an opportunity to develop a deeper awareness of yourself and your relationship with life.

Does Banyan organise spiritual journeys to India?

Yes. Banyan can arrange personalised journeys to India, combining guided meditation, yoga, visits to temples and sacred sites, and opportunities to experience traditional Indian spiritual practices. Depending on individual interests, journeys may include visits to ashrams,  and cultural experiences that offer a deeper understanding of India's rich spiritual heritage. Each journey can be tailored to your interests, preferred destinations, and duration, with opportunities to connect with Banyan's educational initiatives. Contact us to explore your journey to India.

Who guides the meditation sessions?

Sessions are guided by a facilitator who has practised meditation since 2006. Her approach draws on years of personal practice and a deep connection to India's spiritual traditions.

Is meditation connected to a particular religion?

No. Banyan welcomes people from all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions. While inspired by ancient wisdom and mindfulness practices, our sessions focus on universal values of awareness, compassion, and inner peace.

What is Banyan Initiative for Development ?

Banyan Initiative for Development is a volunteer-led, non-profit organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland, established under Articles 60–79 of the Swiss Civil Code. Banyan combines guided meditation sessions with a commitment to meaningful social impact.

How does Banyan support education projects in India?
Since 2015, Banyan works closely with a partner school in India to identify students from lower-middle-income families who would benefit from financial support. Through this partnership, we contribute towards the annual school fees of selected students.
